Importing a policy via the UDDI registry is similar to importing a policy from a file, except that the source is not a policy XML file on a hard disk, but rather XML resolved from an HTTP URL published in a UDDI registry.

Importing a policy via the UDDI registry is similar to importing a policy from a file, except that the source is not a policy XML file on a hard disk, but rather XML resolved from an HTTP URL published in a UDDI registry.
Importing a policy via the UDDI registry is supported in the browser client version of the Policy Manager only when the Java applet is running in the trusted mode.
To import a policy via the UDDI Registry:
- Make sure the service that is receiving the imported policy is open. If not, double-click the service in the [Services] tab, or right-click the service name and select Policy Assertions. The policy development window appears.
- Click [Import from UDDI] on the Policy Tool Bar. The Import WS-Policy from URL in UDDI Registry wizard appears.
- Complete the wizard to import the policy.
